Supreme Court's Decision On Same-Sex Marriage

I am having to shake myself right now from feeling despondent or from thinking that it is too late for our nation. Part of me feels as though I am sitting at the funeral of the greatest nation on earth, my United States of America.  But I had to remind myself that it is never too late with our God. When the Apostle Paul felt that everything was against him, he still said in 2 Cor 4: 8-9 “8 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.” As long as we are breathing and have the Spirit of God dwelling on the inside, it is not over. We, the church of The Lord Jesus Christ, are still on this earth to do a job. We are also the restraining factor on this earth, and it’s not over until we are gone. We are told that  “we can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. We have to have a fighting spirit in us.  I am not talking about fighting people, being combative, or obnoxious.  I’m talking about not giving up or being whiny babies. I am talking about standing up to sin & evil. We can endure all things & persevere.  In the end, we should be able to say as Paul did in 2 Tim. 4: 7-8. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing”.

I do not see how judgement cannot fall on a nation that has fallen this far.  Just a couple of generations ago, couples couldn’t rent an apartment without a marriage certificate and proving  that they attended a local church.  Abortion was murder, pregnancy outside of marriage was a disgrace, and pornographers were outlaws. Homosexuality was an embarrassment and musicians who used drugs were an outrage. Public school teachers who refused to lead prayers & post the 10 commandments, soon found themselves unemployed.

My, how times have changed! We have to face that this is a post-Christian nation. People don’t believe the way they used to think or believe. They have different values. They used to know they were sinners and needed a savior.  They knew they had rebelled against God and needed His forgiveness. They had memories, even if distant ones, to Sunday school stories & lessons of Jesus dying on the cross. Many knew they weren’t living by what they remembered, but knew they should. Today, people no longer live close to that. When you ask them about God, they may say, which one?  If you speak of sin, you’ll hear, “I am not so bad, I’m not a murderer. If you stand up & say something about the sanctity of marriage, you could get stoned. They no longer consider the Bible the final authority or have any idea what is says, except, “Judge not, that you be not judged.”

No, this is no longer the nation that our forefathers formed.  People no longer believe what they used to believe. The Bible promised God’s blessing to the country that puts Him first.  Deut. 28: 9-10  says, “9 “The Lord will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways. 10 Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you. It promises just the opposite to the blessed nation that forgets Him.

We used to declare Him on our coins, in our pledge, in our laws, in our morality, and in our values. Now, all of these are being eroded faster than we can say backslidden. People give their own opinions about gay marriage and everything else. What was once simple, the fact that God created man and woman the way He wanted them to be, biologically together. He specifically forbid homosexuality. It ruins the family & society.  It is a perversion and an abomination. The hand-writing is on the wall. What is good is now called evil, and what was called evil, is now called good. Isaiah 5:20 - “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”

There is no stopping the downfall. They will legalize euthanasia, pedophilia, bigamy, and orgy groups to somehow be married to one another.  Then it will be legal to marry animals, etc. Some are probably shaking their heads in disbelief to this, as people would have done years ago about the possibility of same sex marriages being legalized.

For our white house Facebook picture to change to the rainbow white house, means the Godly symbols that used to represent our nation, are being changed for the most ungodly ones.

Many people are posting about what this means to the church. I have been saying, as so many others have for awhile, that’s we have to get ready. Nothing can separate us from the love of God, but all hell is trying to. Now, our government, our own people, some friends and relatives, will be among those who will attack us with ferocious persecution. We have to pray as never before and stick together and preach the truth. One friend posted something very interesting today. Pastor Steve Bilsborough posted, “Watch and Listen closely for the response to todays Vote from Mega Church leaders around America....there is no sound being heard!” I agree, so I had to post myself.  We cannot back down, church.  Everything is at stake. I feel like they must have felt on the eve of the Revolutionary War.  The church has no right to be silent.  2 Timothy 4:2  “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.”  2/3 of preaching should be reproving and rebuking or you’re not preaching.  It’s not all exhortation & comfort, like people think.

This is going to cost us, but people are worth it.  Luke 14:28-33  says, “For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it— 29 lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, 30 saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’? 31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? 32 Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace. 33 So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.”  This will require intentional & sustained effort.  We need to have a strong prayer support. We have to be ready to take risks, face discomfort, & invest our time, money, & energy. This will effect our checkbooks & calendars.  We have to remember that everyone we see, is someone who matters to the Father.  This is why we are headed to Washington D.C. next week to join Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne with “Celebrate America.”  It’s now or never.  Let’s take back our land folks.
