What Is Tenacity?

What is tenacity?  The dictionary says it is the quality of being determined to do or achieve something; firmness of purpose...

I would say it is stick-to-it-tiveness, a bull-dogged determination that says, "I have ahold of something & you're going to need a ball-bat or a saw to get me off."

The Apostle Paul had that.  He said, "I've fought the fight & I've finished my race." He had made up his mind that by the grace of God, he was going though to receive his crowns on the other side.

Faith isn't a rush, but a trust.  We have to have depth to see something through to the end.  We have to understand duration, the long-haul of our faith.  Most refuse to believe longer that a short while.

There are people who have written books, pastored, and won souls, but persecution came.  Affliction & trials came and they got offended.  What they used to preach for, they now change their doctrine and preach against, or vice-versa.

The word offense means that something caused me to distrust, feel displeasure, and bristle with indignation.

It's easy to say, "I tried it & it didn't work, so I gave up".  However, faith says, it doesn't matter what I feel, see, or hear.  It's mine.  "Faith is the substance of things hoped for & the evidence of things unseen".  If I don't see it yet, I have to wait longer, I'm o.k.  I get to exercise faith longer.

The Bible tells us in Hebrews 10:38-39 "Now the just shall live by faith;
But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him. 39 But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul".
