Mainstream America: What Can We Do About It? (Part 4 of 4)

What is the solution? Those of us who still believe America was founded as one nation under God must humble ourselves and pray and seek God as never before.

We must wake up to realize that this erosion of the values that our country was founded upon is created to destroy this great nation.

For instance, on the idea of gay marriage, we have to know what it's really about. Our one-time conservative children are falling prey to what I call, the sympathy pull. Their good nature wants to include everyone, to do away with hate and prejudice, to not allow any kind of bullying, but at the expense of Christian people now being the target. We have been fooled into thinking that this is about two loving people who want to build some kind of a normal, suburban life. That's not what it's about at all.

Recently a lesbian journalist published an article saying, "gay marriage is a lie". At least she is honest and exposing the truth about the gay agenda. She tells us that there is an ulterior motive behind the relentless campaign to institute same-sex marriage. It's really only about winning the legal right for two people of the same gender to marry. It is not about being faithful and monogamous and raising a family. She said the ultimate aim is to diminish and eventually destroy the institution of marriage and radically redefine the traditional family.

One of their tricks is to compare their cause to the civil rights struggle of half a century ago. But there is a fundamental difference. When Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. called on the nation to live up to the maintaining of its creed, he heard an echo from a thousand pulpits. Treating African American people decently was consistent with what Christians had been taught.

The triumph of gay rights is a defeat for God's Country, and the new laws are immoral and need neither be respected nor obeyed. The issue is acceptance. If the pastors of today would tell congregations they need not obey civil rights laws, they would be denounced as racists. Church tax exemptions would be in peril.

I remember reading in junior high school, the communist plan to take America. It has once again come to the light when I saw a documentary about a now-senator who had been asked to substitute for someone at a communist planning meeting at a well-known college. He saw what looked like businessmen, (not some young hippies), in suits and briefcases. He was in shock as he heard their blatant plans to bring America down from the inside. They said that the biggest goal was to bring Christianity down because it was the basis for all American beliefs. They would pollute the schools with secularism. They would highlight chaotic music and perverse movies from Hollywood and paint these things as normal. They would push a homosexual agenda and bring down the institution of marriage. When America was no longer a Christian nation, it would be a full-fledged communist one.

When I first heard this, no one believed that it was even slightly possible. Now, here we are, 45 years later, on the brink of seeing their communist agenda come to full fruition. It never was the job of politicians to keep America good. It was the job of the church. However, the church, as a whole, has succumbed to the very same philosophies and caved in, all in the name of acceptance, not judging, gaining more people (thus more money and popularity).

It is time that the church of The Lord Jesus Christ awakens, arises, and goes forth. It may cost us our tax-free status, our finances, our popularity, our friends, our family, and ultimately our lives.

I remember the day at a Bible College, (where I used to teach), that Reinhard Bonnke was a visiting minister for the graduating class. He said that he perceived that there were some of us in that meeting that would ultimately give our lives for the cause of Christ. It was a shock. This was the United States. As a minister who travels the globe, I always knew there was a possibility of giving my life on the foreign field for the cause of Christ, but never thought that could be in my own nation. Now, I know how real that possibility is.

We must tell everyone we meet the message of The Gospel without compromise or fear of reprisal. We must preach the truth in our pulpits, whether we lose people or not. We must vote like a Christian, not a black or white person, but a Christian. No one can vote for a person who propagates abortion, same-sex marriage, coming against the constitution, and still be a Christian. There are many wolves in evangelical clothing these days.

We must train our children all the time according to the Bible, not a secular, marxist agenda most of the day. We must do whatever it takes, whatever that means (home school, private school, etc.) We must refuse to be politically correct, even if that labels us as racists, bigots, old-fashioned, or ignorant. We must be willing to give our lives.

Are you prepared to make that commitment, my friend?
